The time of the year that everybody has been anticipating has come at last—Halloween costumes are everywhere within the shops—and indeed, the title "Queen of Halloween" has proved how best it could be held.
Of course, as the custom goes, Klum came to this year's where did they go—a dad party dressed as E.T. indeed from the movie.
The supermodel, aged 51, made quite the entrance at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York with her never-before-seen animatronic goggles, which had eyes that blinked and a mouth that moved despite the fact that the goggles had a neck that Klum managed to poke her head into. The shoes were knee high. However, the instep stage created the effect that Kwum was walking on the short, delicate legs of E.T., who was knee high.
A week before the annual event, Klum shared with the New York Times how a crew member controlled her glowing tips and the animated five-pound headpiece from a distance. She also explained how, because the costume was so cumbersome, she would wear an adult diaper to the party. 'Maybe I won't need it, but at least then I wouldn't have any regrets about not using one.'
Klum had been posting costume details to the web and even did an Amazon live show on preparation day, which was a Thursday, and that kept the fans on suspense till the very last moment.
The model also had Mike Marino, a longtime friend and the Hollywood prosthetic artist who designed some of Klum's most intricate Halloween costumes, attending the pre-party. This year's costume was 'probably the most complex that we have ever made' called Marino.
"Look, she has her face and her body literally plastered on. And it takes, like, literally, months to even sculpt and figure one out."
Klum revealed, however, that Sautegae had initially dismissed the costume as excessive. "I can remember when I was searching for Mike to do this particular costume for me—first he said, 'no' to me," she recalled on Amazon Live, how she had to 'bother bothers bother' him to change his opinion.
The German Model not only took part in the 'Halloween' rituals but also hosted her first such occasion on the third day of the Halloween month in the year two thousand, which was seven years after landing in the States. This is something she expressed in 2018 to The Hollywood Reporter. "A great party was the only thing that was left to complete the picture."
Organized for several years, this event has become one of the most requested Halloween parties to some degree due to the well-thought-out costumes that Klum sported. In the recent past, she has been dressed up as a robot, a peacock, a werewolf, 'Shrek's' Fiona princess, and the most recent and popular of them all, an earthworm last year.
While Klum in an alien costume perhaps won the fight for the best dressed alien, there were others who also breathed out stylish alien fashion this year as well. Even Janelle Monae rocked the same outfit and shared a photo the day before the event. The scene-stealing singer-actress worked with an effects team who even designed the 'gloved fingertip' for her character on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
